ABOVE OR BELOW

I am announcing my second book publication to be released this April. Above or Below is a science fiction mystery story that will set you to thinking deeper than ever before. Some who have read parts of the story have said that they were in suspense from the first page to the last that they had to read, asking me to hurry and finish with it. This book is partly true and partly imagination, which could be true. To say the least, It's a thriller. I was given the idea to write this book, one day at a time. I never knew where it would lead to when I started it. In 1982, I first started to write this story. My 13 year old son was acting in an outdoor drama presentation called,  "Texas."  I shared an apartment with him while he stayed busy acting and running with the crowd of the younger casts. I was stuck in the apartment with not much to keep me occupied. One day the thought came to me to write a book. I only had a note book and pen to work with. I sat down to write, but I couldn't think of anything to write about. To this day I can't remember actually writing a single word of the manuscript. I found it after I had published my biography and memoir 30 years later. I was looking through some old note books and ran on to the story, Above or Below. I had written 30 pages. I started to read them. I couldn't believe I had written what I was reading. I was angry at myself for not finishing it. I let Charles read the 30 pages then he yelled at me, "where is the rest of it?" I told him thats all I had, then he said,"well go finish it, I want to know what happened." I said to him, "I don't know what happened, I don't even remember writing that." "Well," he said, "you have got to think and start writing the rest of it." I went to work on it right away. When I sat down at the computer, the words began to flow through my mind and it scared me. Truthly, I was ready to stop, thinking that what I was writing was nonsense, and shouldn't be written. I let Charles read what I had written, then told him I believed I should stop the nonsense. He looked at me and said, "thats not nonsense, the old devil is telling you that. You keep on writing." I reconsidered then began to write more. Two or three more times I almost quit, then finally I decided to run the course. I never knew from the moment I sat down to write, till I got up from writting, what I was going to write. It all came to me one word at a time. I have never been one to boast about my accomplishments, but I am so glad I finished the book. My husband has been my best critic and inspirational image. He is the best for reviewing a novel, if only you can get him to do it. My prayer is, Lord, let everyone who reads my books be spiritually strengthened and encouraged to press on in this old mean-spirited world, and meet you in the end."
God's blessings to all
