"More About The Man From The East"

For those of you who have read my book, "When The Angle Came," You will have met, "The Man From The East." He became my friend a few years ago, when God sent him to Perryton to work with a group of people who were about to lose their church. This man immediately became hated by those trying to take over the church. I knew why he was there and had plenty of guts to stand up for him. Needless to say, I was not liked either for the stand I took for God's faithful servant. Since I was the only one in the church to recognize this special man fo God, he and I worked together to do what we had to do. Within a short time we had several followers and the end results was VICTORY. It all happened within a few days.Time was almost over for the great battle that lie ahead. I have said all of that to say this, I saw and heard this man, "a Stephen type saint," called all kinds of bad names, a non-Christian, an evil unwelcome intruder, and many more unbelievable insulting names. From both sides of the split church. Somehow, God made His plan work. Can you believe? Today we have a blessed and loving church. I need to tell you that even though we have the wonderful church, there are still some who won't  accept this special servant of God. Does this remind you of the story of Jesus? This chosen Christian man doesn't need us here in Perryton to carry on with his work, but isn't it a shame that people just don't get the message. The long line of Missionary endeavors goes a way back for this man and his loving wife. After his calling was finished in Perryton, he and his wife spent four years on the Island of Carriacon working with under privileged Islanders. He wrote a book while there, which I was fortunate to recieve a copy of the manuscript. Anyone who could read this book and still ridicule this man, certainly needs prayer. He and his wife are now in Saudi Arabia. I would like to share a few words from his email to me.
PS This man has donated all of the proceeds from the book to the Islanders.

It's good to hear from you. I am enjoying myself in Saudi. I am teaching at a college and living on a Western compound. I like my students a lot. They are the top students at the college and are very smart. I can't talk about Christianity, but I talk about God. and what God expects from them. I told them I was a Christian Imam (Imam is a Islamic priest.) They like that.
There are several young children living on the compound. Many of the parents from Christian countries came to me to teach them Bible. A woman fron South Africia whose father is a minister and I teach the children Bible lessons on Friday afternoon. Friday is like our Sunday. The children really like it. In many ways I have become the Chaplain of the compound. One of the mothers said God sent me to compound. I believe God did. I am doing more ministry than I did as a church minister. My wife, (leaving out all names) is doing graduate school in Kansas City. She will come to Saudi in January or February (I am doing my sponsorship visi for her to come). She will either work at a hospital or teach English at a woman's school.
This summer the company is sending me to Spain to a school to better my teaching skills. The company is expanding and wants me to be a manager, but I must have two years of teaching before I can. Basically, life couldn't be better.
How are you doing? I talk with Paul Carruth a lot on SKYPE. He is doing a church start in Amarillo. It is going well.
I've got to go now, wife is SKYPing me.
Love you,
Your friend

I felt very strongly I needed to give a scripture here that might make some people think about what they have done to this Godly man and possibly others also.
Psalms 62: 3-4 How much longer will all of you attack a man who is no stronger than a broken-down fence?  You only want to bring him down from his place of honor; you take pleasure in lies.  You speak words of blessings, but in your heart you cruse him.

This couple is young and unfortunately cannot have children. They love them so much. God knows best.

 God bless
 Myrtle Jean Sharp
